It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us at our combined meeting of the Digestive Disease Institute 3rd International Symposium (DDI Symposium) and the 2nd Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular Disease International Symposium (DOCS 2019), taking place on April 25-27, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Based on the individual successes of each meeting held separately last year, we are this year holding the meetings in succession. With strong feedback from attendees of each meeting, we expect that this set-up will allow us to maximize the educational and programmatic material and reach a larger audience with a greater cross-section of topics. The meetings will be promoted and the content built around the previously successful models, with session overlap to increase exposure and promote participation in each meeting. Registration for participants will be for each symposium individually or for both programs together.
The DDI Symposium aims to provide its participants with the latest, evidence based and state-of-the-art lectures addressing a spectrum of common and complex topics. This scientific program is specifically developed to present up to date, data driven management of a variety of conditions including medical and surgical approaches to: liver and pancreas diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders, gastrointestinal oncology, colorectal disorders, metabolic and bariatric surgery, and nutritional conditions. In addition, this year the content will be expanded to include a full session on hernia surgery and transplantation, in line with feedback from participants and new services at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
The DDI Symposium will consist of diverse lectures and break-out sessions with lively debates by leading local and international experts from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Cleveland Clinic Ohio, Cleveland Clinic Florida, and other international academic medical centers. We expect over 300 delegates, who will be provided with ample opportunities for interactive participation and discussion. The program is designed to showcase the latest in medical, surgical, minimally invasive, robotic, and endoscopic therapies.
Based on the success of the 1st Diabetes, Obesity, and Cardiovascular Diseases Summit, the second edition will be a multidisciplinary, comprehensive Summit that aims to provide participants with the newest data-driven therapies to treat obesity and metabolic diseases. The program is specifically developed to allow for the exchange of new data and treatment strategies available to address the broad-spectrum metabolic diseases associated with obesity. Because of the worldwide epidemic of obesity and the significant health burden of associated diabetes and cardiovascular disease, the focus of DOCS 2019 will be unique and allow for multidisciplinary and broad approach across spectrum medical specialties as well as dietician, nursing, physical education, and healthy eating components.
Similar to the DDI Symposium, DOCS 2019 will consist of diverse lectures and breakout sessions with lively debates by leading local and international experts from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Cleveland Clinic Ohio, and other leading international academic medical centers. We expect over 200 participants comprised of physicians including internists, family practitioners, general practitioners, obesity medicine specialists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, general and bariatric surgeons, dietitians, nutritionists, psychiatrists, exercise physiologists and other providers involved in the multidisciplinary care of obese patients.
These events will be a platform for professional networking amongst faculty, delegates and exhibitors from the United Arab Emirates and abroad. On behalf of the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, we look forward to your participation at the 3rd Annual International Digestive Disease International Symposium and the 2nd Diabetes, Obesity, and Cardiovascular Diseases International Symposium.
